The University of Wisconsin Parkside has been home to the Midwest Regional for the past 37 years and has spawned the career of many runners who went on to become national champion including Adam Goucher, Jorge Torres, Dathan Ritzenhein, Chris Solinsky, Grant Fisher, Molly Seidel, Melody Fairchild and Anna Rohrer.

Runners may only participate in one race.

10:00 AM Freshman/Sophomore Boys
10:40 AM Girls Championship
11:25 AM Boys Championship
12:05 PM Coach Fed Youth Championship - 3K
12:35 PM High School Girls
1:10 PM Junior/Senior Boys
1:45 PM Open Race
Any runner, whether they are in a public school, home school, boarding school, private school or independent school, must run in the high school Championship Race in order to qualify for the National Finals in San Diego.

Pick up is on Friday, November 29 between 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. or starting at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 30.

Race Course
The course is 5000 meters and consists of grass and dirt paths. Spikes are permitted.
The course is open 9:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29.
Free chicken noodle soup, coffee and hot chocolate will be served at the course on Friday from 11:00a.m. until 3:00p.m.
The course is open for warm-ups on Saturday, November 30 from 8:00a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
Pets are not allowed on the course Friday or Saturday.
Location of the Course 4000 Petrifying Springs Road, Kenosha, WI 53144
The University of Wisconsin-Parkside race course is located in northern Kenosha County, five miles south of Racine. Milwaukee is 25 miles north. Chicago is 60 miles south. Highway I-94 passes four miles west of the campus. Highway E runs east from I-94 and leads directly to the race course.
We will be running the FLXC MW 5K, which was only run three times in UW-Parkside history. We switched from the traditional route to ensure that we would have the best possible course conditions. The Coach Fed Youth 3K is basically the first three kilometers of the traditional UWP 5K course.

States Competing
Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and U.S. citizens in Overseas Military Installations.
The state where a runner resides determines in which regional meet he/she must participate. Runners must participate in the region to which their state has been assigned. Boarding school students must compete in the region of their school location. Non U.S. citizens who attend high school in the U.S. and who meet the age requirement may compete. Home-schooled students must compete in the region of their residence during the school year.
Race Description
Boys Championship Race
Qualification for the Boys Championship race is determined by the runner's previous best time. Junior and Senior boys who have run faster than 16:20 may consider running in the Championship race. Freshman and Sophomore boys who have run faster than the 16:20 qualifying time have the option of competing in the Championship race or Freshman/Sophomore race.
Girls Championship Race and High School Race
Girls may compete in the Girls Championship Race or the High School Girls Race. It is suggested that girls entering the Girls Championship Race consistently run faster that 22:00 for 5k.
Boys Freshman/Sophomore Race
All Freshman and Sophomore boys who do not qualify for the Boys Championship Race compete in the Boys Freshman/Sophomore Race.
Boys Junior/Senior Race
All Junior and Senior boys who do not qualify for the Boys Championship race compete in the Boys Junior/Senior Race.
Open Race
This 5000 meter race is open to runners in the following divisions: Open, and Masters (ages 40 and over). High school runners may not run in the Open Race. Middle School athletes may choose to run in either the Coach Fed 3K or the Open 5K.
The top ten (10) female and male runners in each division will receive a medal.
Coach Fed Youth Championship
Runners in 8th grade and under can run in the Youth Championship 3000m Race. Medals to the top 15 individuals and top 3 boys and girls teams will be awarded. Five or more runners make a team.
Awards and National Qualifiers
Individual Medals
The top twenty-four (24) finishers in all high school races are awarded medals.
Youth Championship
Medals to the top 15 individuals and top 3 boys and girls teams will be awarded.
Open Race
The top ten finishers in each division (Open and Masters) will receive a medal.
Participant's Awards
Every runner in every race will receive a backpack from Foot Locker and Hoka (while supplies last).
State Team Awards
The top five (5) individual male and female finishers from every state in the boys and girls' Championship races constitute that state's "team." Each individual on the first five (5) state teams is awarded a medal. The scoring system will be based on total points (non displacement).
National Qualifiers
The top 10 runners in the Boys Championship Race and Girls Championship Race qualify for the National Finals held on December 14, 2024 in San Diego, CA.

Uniforms
High School athletes are competing in FLMWXC as unattached individuals. It is recommended that high school athletes do not wear school issued uniforms (Some states have strict regulations regarding wearing team issued uniforms out of season).
This is a USATF sanctioned event and clothing worn must conform to USATF regulations. Any normal running singlets, shorts, tights, bodysuits, warm-ups, buns, turtlenecks, t-shirt, hats, arm sleeves, etc. are legal.
There are no jewelry restrictions. Watches are legal, however enabled pacing/communications watches are not allowed.
Costumes are NOT legal!
The maximum spike length allowed is 1/2” (3/8” & 1/2” ceramic spikes will be sold at the meet).
Cartwheels, holding hands or any other activity that could distract, impede, or harm another runner could cause meet management to remove you from the course.  Please refrain from this type of activity during your race.
